About Us: A Big (Little) Specialist with a Lot of Wow
Fuchshuber Techno-Tex GmbH develops high-performance textiles for personal protection and technical applications. Our roots lie in the world of fencing: in 1984, our founder Friedrich Fuchshuber introduced a puncture-resistant, knitted, and comfortable fencing trouser. Since then, our portfolio has steadily grown and now includes technical high-performance knits for personal protection, with applications ranging from police to psychiatric facilities. Our CUTEX collection offers complete outfits for stab and cut protection as well as heat and flame resistance.
Since 2017, Fuchshuber Techno-Tex has been part of the Concordia Group, which unites divisions for workwear, fashion, bedding, and specialized solutions under one roof. As an independent subsidiary based in Lichtenstein-Unterhausen, we combine the best of both worlds: deep expertise, short decision-making processes, and a lot of power.
milestones
-
2024
Fuchshuber Techno-Tex celebrates its 40th anniversary. With its portfolio, Fuchshuber is one of the leading suppliers in Europe. The company employs 14 people, including four in the in-house knitting mill. It generates about six to eight percent of the sales of the Concordia Group, which generates net sales of about 100 million euro.
-
2016
Because there are no successors within the family, Friedrich Fuchshuber sells his company to the Belgian Concordia Group. With technical knitwear-based textiles, Fuchshuber Techno-Tex is a valuable addition to its portfolio.
-
2010
Fuchshuber Techno-Tex takes over a knitting mill in Balingen, thus achieving its goal of virtual full-scale operation. Circular knitting machines from a "whitewashed cowshed" in the Swabian Alb will then be incorporated into the existing machinery. There, a farmer has been running a knitting mill for Fuchshuber Techno-Tex for several years as a sideline.
-
2000
Import duties on textile products from Asia are being progressively eliminated. Fuchshuber Techno-Tex leverages its diverse brand segments, strategic market positioning, and strong partnerships with technical fiber manufacturers to navigate these changes successfully.
-
1989
Friedrich Fuchshuber embarks on his vision of a (virtual) fully integrated company for Fuchshuber Techno-Tex. His goal: to establish a fully integrated value chain, encompassing technological expertise in spinning, knitting, dyeing, finishing, and ready-to-wear production. This initiative not only strengthens the company’s innovation capabilities but also secures around 60 jobs.
-
1987
Fuchshuber Techno-Tex begins to expand its portfolio, because protective clothing has its place not only in sports. The company develops specific solutions for the Federal Police, GSG9, Border Guard, Fire Brigade, Disaster Relief and the German Armed Forces. This is needs-based cut- and puncture-resistant, flame-retardant, resistant, breathable and, last but not least, comfortable, and multifunctional protective clothing.
-
1984
Friedrich Fuchshuber founds Fuchshuber Techno-Tex with an innovative debut: high-performance knitted fabrics designed for fencing suits. These fabrics combine exceptional puncture resistance to ensure athlete safety with outstanding bi-elasticity for maximum comfort and freedom of movement.
