Fuchshuber Techno-Tex at A + A
Solutions protect against cuts, flames – and cold

Together with Concordia Textiles, Fuchshuber Techno-Tex will present innovative textile solutions for enhanced occupational safety at A+A 2025 in Düsseldorf. The joint presentation at booth H44 in hall 16 will focus on cut, stab, flame, and abrasion protection.
“We develop and produce high-performance knitted fabrics and protective textiles that are consistently tailored to the user’s needs,” explains Managing Director Rüdiger Reuter. “Our aim is to combine safety, comfort, and sustainability in every product we create.”

Three functions in one protective hood: Provides safety against glances, cuts and flames
At A+A 2025 in Düsseldorf, Fuchshuber Techno-Tex will unveil a new protective hood that combines three protective functions in a single product. The design was developed based on direct feedback from users – particularly from police and security forces.
The hood first serves to protect the identity of emergency personnel. It is single-layered in the head area, lightweight, and breathable, making it comfortable to wear under a helmet. On request, it can also be customized with prints or embroidery.
From nose level downward, an integrated cut-protection layer provides an additional safeguard – eliminating the need for a separate scarf. “Security forces now only need a single, ready-to-wear model that they can simply put on,” explains Daniel Krull, Marketing and Sales Manager at Fuchshuber Techno-Tex.
The third level of protection is flame resistance: the material is inherently flame-retardant and reliably shields against the dangers of incendiary devices such as Molotov cocktails. “Such improvised weapons can cause severe injuries and are perceived by special units and riot police as a real threat,” adds Krull.

Purfi®: Protects people and the environment
Purfi® combines recycled and virgin aramid fibers into a newly spun, high-performance yarn. Up to 30 percent of the fibers come from recycled sources, while 70 percent are virgin fibers – reducing resource consumption by roughly one third. In doing so, Purfi® lays the foundation for a circular economy in high-performance textiles.
Previously processed aramid fabrics and finished goods are mechanically reprocessed into fibers. The gentle process – carried out in Baden-Württemberg – preserves fiber length and ensures high-quality yarns that can be further processed without any loss of functionality or performance, as confirmed by Rüdiger Reuter, Managing Director of Fuchshuber Techno-Tex.
Purfi® is currently used primarily in flame-retardant underwear. New additions to the range include piqué shirts, while Interlock and fleece products have also proven their value. The flame-retardant properties are equivalent to those of virgin aramid yarns – demonstrating that sustainability and safety can go hand in hand.

Wool-Nomex blend: protection against flames – and cold
Another innovation in the Fuchshuber Techno-Tex portfolio is flame-retardant protective underwear with a wool component. “Scandinavian users are exposed to extreme temperatures, especially in winter,” explains Daniel Krull. “The addition of wool provides extra warmth and enhances comfort.”
At A+A 2025, Fuchshuber Techno-Tex will present a modular collection based on Wool Nomex®. In the fleece version, for example, the fabric is brushed on both sides: classic Nomex® on the outside and wool on the inside. The result is a flame-retardant double-face knitted fabric that combines a pleasant feel against the skin with reliable protection. The wool layer on the body side offers warmth and comfort, while the Nomex® exterior ensures safety – even in unbrushed areas. The modular protection system includes troyers, protective hoods, and underwear.
