High-Tech Knits for Protection and Safety:
Fuchshuber Showcases Its Extensive Portfolio at Enforce Tac

Fuchshuber Techno-Tex will showcase its extensive range of high-tech protective textiles at Enforce Tac in Nuremberg from February 24 to 26. At Booth 200 in Hall 7, the subsidiary of the Belgian Concordia Group will present both new and proven solutions for cut, stab, and puncture protection. A brand-new addition to the portfolio is Purfi®, an aramid yarn which by one third consists of recycled meta-aramid fibers.

Purfi®: Upcycling Meta-Aramids

In collaboration with Concordia Textiles and leading aramid fiber producers, Fuchshuber utilizes the innovative Purfi® technology. "We now integrate recycled meta-aramid fibers, which are processed into yarns containing 30% recycled content," explains Rüdiger Reuter, General Manager of Fuchshuber Techno-Tex.

The Purfi® technology provides a key technical advantage: "The fiber lengths remain almost completely intact, allowing for high-quality processing without compromising functionality or performance, particularly in flame-resistant clothing." This approach reduces the demand for new fibers by one-third. Fuchshuber’s partners across the supply chain collect and sort fiber, yarn, and fabric waste for Purfi®. "At the same time, we are developing concepts for the centralized collection of end-of-life garments," Reuter emphasizes.

The Purfi® technology supports a circular economy for specialized materials such as meta-aramids (Nomex®). All fibers can be reused while maintaining the highest protection standards—a crucial step toward sustainable solutions for firefighting, military, and law enforcement applications.

At Enforce Tac, Fuchshuber Techno-Tex will showcase various products made from Purfi® yarns, including a protective hood and a fleece pullover.

Flame Protection Concepts – Defence Against Heat, Flames, and Arc Flashes

Protection against heat, flames, and arc flashes is a key focus area for Fuchshuber. "For more than three decades, we have worked with Nomex® fibers from DuPont, developing extensive expertise in this field," says Rüdiger Reuter. At Enforce Tac, the company will present various knit structures, including flame-resistant functional underwear, socks, and fleece shirts.

Integrated Cut Protection

Sharp edges are a concern in elite sports as well as in industrial applications, especially when working with glass or metal. Fuchshuber’s high-performance knits, made from Dyneema® or Kevlar®, are strategically integrated into protective garments to safeguard high-risk body areas. A cut-resistant scarf is integrated into the Enforce Tac exhibits, and cut protection has already been knitted into a sweater as well.

Functionality, Comfort, and Design in Focus

"We are confident that our specialized protective textiles fulfill a vital need in industry, elite sports, police, military, and special forces," says Rüdiger Reuter. His vision: "Our products are not only highly functional, but also comfortable and aesthetically appealing."
